Jenny and Jason…. Great engagement session!

Michelle and I had a great time photographing Jason and Jenny for their engagement session. Found new locations and played with old locations. Hope you like it.

Outdoor Lighting and Posing, Part 2

Had a great group of folks today for our second MeetUp (Montgomery Photography Workshops @ Meetup.com).  Seven photographers who got to interact with each other and explore the principles of flash photography that I shared with them.  Thanks to Keith and Carly for sharing their son Joel with our cameras.  Below are a few shots I took of Carly… just a glowing mom and wonderful to photograph.  Check us out on MeetUp.com and join the fun.  Next meetup to come sometime in August.  July I am out on two destination weddings, no time to play… all work.  :)

“non” traditional Bride and Groom shoot…..

Thanks to Rick Ferro of Orlando Florida for sharing his time and talent with members (and non-members) of PPOC in a one day workshop on indoor and outdoor wedding photography.  We were at Turville Photography in Santa Ana for this event.  Thanks to our host Steve Lopushinsky for providing the studio and surrounding areas for Rick to setup demonstrations.  The indoor studio session featured two models (bride and groom) in “non” traditional looks.  Here are a couple samples I was able to grab while assisting Rick in the demonstration.  To se more of the shoot, visit www.PPOC.org for images and information about Rick, PPOC and other upcoming events.

Business or Personal portraits..

If you haven’t had a professional headshot done lately (or at all) now is the time. Visual impressions are a huge part of todays social media and marketing. If your image was shot hand held with a pocket camera, you are not sending out a good message…. it speaks of cheap, low quality and poor self image. Here are some proper headshots for ladies that could be used for business or work. Next week I’ll post some men. Contact me for a business or social media session and show the best side of you.Untitled-1

Mutterings…..

Just an update on my professional development. I entered four images in the PPOC quarterly image competition last month and all four prints received merit status. I was ecstatic. Next quarter I will be entering another four mostly in the wedding and portrait category. Wish me luck.
I will be hosting my second MeetUp on Outdoor Lighting and Posing this Saturday. If you would like to join us, check out my group and Meetup.com/montgomery photographyworkshops/ We have 11 signed up so far and room for plenty more.
And finally, check out this wedding Michelle did earlier this year… great stuff.
